True Norwegian Black Metal. It was founded in 1992, as a project by NAGASH and several other like-minded extreme metal musicians at that time. All-though TROLL went on to become more or less a solo-project for NAGASH until 2007.

The debut EP called “TROLLSTORM OVER NIDINGJUV” was released in 1995 on a well known Norwegian underground metal label called HEAD NOT FOUND.Featuring music in the style that Norwegian Black Metal has become most known for. Atmospheric and necro! With NAGASH doing all the instruments himself.
1996 saw the release of the debut album. Entitled “DREP DE KRISTNE” (translated to KILL THE CHRISTIANS), which lead to NAGASH getting into trouble with the Norwegian government for blasphemy and inciting violence against the religious institutions and its peoples.

Following the release of “DREP DE KRISTNE”, NAGASH spent more time working with other bands such as DIMMU BORGIR and his other band THE KOVENANT. The project would remain inactive until 2000. This time an old founding member rejoined for the next two albums as vocalist and lyricist. Bringing in other session members from bands like MAYHEM, THE KOVENANT and STREET LEGAL / DA VINCI the project released THE LAST PREDATORS in 2000 and UNIVERSAL in 2001 even though both albums were recorded on the very same day. These albums would be a lot more experimental and bizarre, than the original music and the later works of TROLL.

Significant change took place between 2001 and the summer of 2007. TROLL would lay dormant for years, until a little devil called VOLD managed to get NAGASH and another long-time friend named YGG to start up the project again. But this time it would be as a fully functional band. Long story made short…Several tricks and white lies later TROLL was back on the battlefield.

January 2008, EXILIS joined on keyboards, and by July the same year, TLALOC joined as a guitarist. The band now focuses on a more “TROLL STORM…” and “DREP DE KRISTNE” kind of music, going back to the more atmospheric black metal of old.

In 2009 TROLL is signed to NAPALM RECORDS, and with the new album “NEO-SATANIC SUPREMACY” coming out towards the end of 2009. The band looks ready to take on the world once again.

The basic foundation for TROLL has always been a satanic one. Infused with the darker sides of ancient Norse mythology. Satanic megalomania. And a strong emphasis on anti-Christian/anti-life lyrics. The music style can most correctly be summed up as Norwegian Black Metal. Primitive, Symphonic, Brutal, Beautiful, Black Evil, Sick and twisted…
