Israthoum was formed in '92 in Portugal under the name Grendel. The line-up back then was: Arvath (drums), Arluth Dhu (guitar/vocals) and Israth (bass/vocals). By this time, two demos were recorded, namely in '92 (Decapitation) and in '93 (untitled). In '95 a live-tape was recorded under the by then new name Geryous.

Somewhere in '97 there was a final change of the bandname to Israthoum, and which was shortly followed by a change of residence to the Netherlands (Arluth Dhu and Arvath) and Luxembourg (Israth) respectively.
In 2001 the demotape Hatred was released, followed by the MCD The Art of Malice (2002) and Black Scenery Avatar (2004).

Israthoum's new album Monument of Brimstone is about to be released.
