Why Aurora Infernalis?

The main reason for starting Aurora Infernalis is the fact that the quality in Black Metal, which was already on a decline back in the mid 90's kept on declining.... Instead of looking at a sideline, I wanted to do something about it myself. The start of a label with the focus on bands who have something extra, especially when it comes to atmosphere and authenticy, for me those are the keywords in essentialy and quality bands. Aurora Infernalis should be a platform for bands who have this "more then just black metal or ambient music" but have black magical aura and feeling as well, which is very rare these days....

The Past

Bands who really mattered in the past like Abigor, Arckanum, Burzum, older Satyricon, older Covenant, older Emperor and Troll, just to name a few.

New Era

Bands like Paysage d' Hiver, Darkspace, Lunar Aurora, the Ruins of Beverast, Graupel, Nocternity are the newer frontier of this modern era of Black Metal.

I try to support the bands I like as well by offering them a chance to do a live performance, most of the time this platform will be club Willemeen located in my hometown Arnhem, the Netherlands.|
